弊社が協賛し、DJ.SALLYさんがパーソナリティを務めてくださっているラジオ番組「しまなみサンクスバディ」にて、「SHIMANAMI Beach FES 2026（しまなみビーチフェス2026）」の最新情報をお届けしました。今回は、番組でお話しした内容を皆様にシェアいたします。

■ いよいよ「SHIMANAMI Beach FES 2026」開催が目前に！

7月19日（日）と20日（月・祝）の2日間、入場無料で開催される「SHIMANAMI Beach FES 2026」がいよいよ目前に迫ってきました。すでにポスターが街の至る所に貼られ、皆様の多大なるご協力のおかげで島全体が熱気に包まれています。

日本を代表する豪華アーティストのライブに加え、白熱のウェイクボード大会も行われるなど、全国を探しても他に類を見ない充実したイベントとなっています。関係者一同、本番に向けて最後の準備に全力で取り組んでおります。

■ ウェイクボード選手＆ボランティアとして奮闘する「宮脇 來士君」

今回の番組には、地元・因島北中学校2年生の宮脇 來士（らいじ）君がゲストとして登場してくれました。來士君は、ウェイクボードの大会に選手として出場するだけでなく、自ら進んでボランティアスタッフとしても参加します。

大会では「いつもサポートしてくれる家族や師匠に良いところを見せたい」と表彰台を狙う一方で、裏方としては「会場の設営やテーブル拭き、ゴミ拾いなどを自ら考えて積極的に行いたい」と力強く語ってくれました。

中学生ながら周囲への感謝を忘れず、自ら考えて行動する彼の姿勢には、運営陣も驚かされるばかりです。

■ 教室では学べない「ボランティアの意味」と教育的価値

しまなみビーチフェスは、単なる音楽やスポーツの祭典ではありません。地域の学生たちに「教室の中だけでは得られない社会実践の場」を提供し、SDGsの実践や若者の自主性を育むという重要な教育的意味を持っています。來士君のように、自分たちで何ができるかを考え、率先して行動する経験は、子どもたちの大きな成長に繋がります。

また、安心して活動できるよう、以下のような徹底した安全管理を行っています。

  • 各エリアへの大人スタッフの配置
  • 30分ごとの水分補給といった熱中症対策
  • 主催者負担でのボランティア保険加入

さらに、参加した学生には進学や就活で公式にアピールできる「ボランティア活動証明書」も発行しています。地域のお祭りづくりに関わった経験が、若い世代の自信や将来への一歩に繋がることを願っております。

The Festival Is Almost Here

SHIMANAMI Beach FES 2026 will take place on July 19 (Sun) and 20 (Mon, national holiday), with free admission for all. Posters are now displayed throughout the town, and thanks to the tremendous support of the community, excitement is building across the entire island of Innoshima. With live performances by top Japanese artists alongside a thrilling wakeboard competition, this festival offers a one-of-a-kind experience unlike any other event in Japan. Our team is putting in every last effort as we approach the big day.

Raiji Miyawaki: Competing and Volunteering at the Same Time

This episode’s special guest was Raiji Miyawaki, a 2nd-year student at Innoshima Kita Junior High School. What makes Raiji truly stand out is that he takes on two roles at the festival at once — competing in the wakeboard tournament while also serving as a volunteer staff member.

As a competitor, he shared his determination: “I want to show my best to my family and coach who always support me, and aim for the podium.”

As a volunteer, he spoke with equal enthusiasm: “I want to actively help with things like setting up the venue, wiping tables, and picking up trash — thinking for myself about what needs to be done.”

His gratitude toward those around him and his self-driven attitude — remarkable for a junior high school student — left a deep impression on the entire organizing team.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

SHIMANAMI Beach FES is more than just a music and sports festival. It serves as a valuable platform for local students to gain real-world social experience that cannot be learned in a classroom, helping to put SDGs into practice and fostering independence among young people. Experiences like Raiji’s — thinking for himself and taking initiative — contribute greatly to a child’s personal growth.

To keep all participants safe, we maintain thorough safety measures, including:

  • Adult staff stationed in every area of the venue
  • Heatstroke prevention through mandatory hydration breaks every 30 minutes
  • Volunteer insurance fully covered by the organizers

In addition, all student volunteers receive an official Volunteer Activity Certificate, which they can use to support university applications and job hunting. We hope that helping to build this community festival becomes a source of confidence and a meaningful step toward their future.
