SHIMANAMI Beach FES 2026: A Radio Recap of a Community-Driven Success
On August 7, 2026, our sponsored radio program Shimanami Thanks Buddy aired a special feature looking back on SHIMANAMI Beach FES 2026, held on July 19–20. Hosted by DJ Sally, the episode welcomed Executive Committee Chair Kojiro Utsumi, performing artist Lu-LAR, and Raiji Miyawaki, a junior high school wakeboarder who also volunteered at the event.
The festival drew approximately 10,000 visitors over two days, with Mr. Utsumi noting that Day Two in particular felt like the largest crowd yet, reflecting the organizing team’s continued growth. Remarkably, the event is run entirely by local volunteers without a professional stage manager or promoter. Drawing on lessons from last year, Lu-LAR built a meticulously detailed schedule—down to each MC segment—and worked closely with the sound crew to recover unexpected delays on the day.
This year’s program also paired daytime wakeboard competitions with live commentary from the main stage, an integration that visitors praised. Raiji’s dual role as both competitor and volunteer highlighted the festival’s promising next generation.
During the broadcast, a message from our company’s Representative Director was read aloud, offering heartfelt thanks to nearly 80 corporate and individual sponsors, as well as every guest who endured the summer heat to attend. Looking ahead, the team expressed hope to eventually welcome as many as 30,000 visitors over two days, as SHIMANAMI Beach FES continues to grow as a cherished summer tradition for the region.

The Festival Is Almost Here
SHIMANAMI Beach FES 2026 will take place on July 19 (Sun) and 20 (Mon, national holiday), with free admission for all. Posters are now displayed throughout the town, and thanks to the tremendous support of the community, excitement is building across the entire island of Innoshima. With live performances by top Japanese artists alongside a thrilling wakeboard competition, this festival offers a one-of-a-kind experience unlike any other event in Japan. Our team is putting in every last effort as we approach the big day.
Raiji Miyawaki: Competing and Volunteering at the Same Time
This episode’s special guest was Raiji Miyawaki, a 2nd-year student at Innoshima Kita Junior High School. What makes Raiji truly stand out is that he takes on two roles at the festival at once — competing in the wakeboard tournament while also serving as a volunteer staff member.
As a competitor, he shared his determination: “I want to show my best to my family and coach who always support me, and aim for the podium.”
As a volunteer, he spoke with equal enthusiasm: “I want to actively help with things like setting up the venue, wiping tables, and picking up trash — thinking for myself about what needs to be done.”
His gratitude toward those around him and his self-driven attitude — remarkable for a junior high school student — left a deep impression on the entire organizing team.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
SHIMANAMI Beach FES is more than just a music and sports festival. It serves as a valuable platform for local students to gain real-world social experience that cannot be learned in a classroom, helping to put SDGs into practice and fostering independence among young people. Experiences like Raiji’s — thinking for himself and taking initiative — contribute greatly to a child’s personal growth.
To keep all participants safe, we maintain thorough safety measures, including:
Adult staff stationed in every area of the venue
Heatstroke prevention through mandatory hydration breaks every 30 minutes
Volunteer insurance fully covered by the organizers
In addition, all student volunteers receive an official Volunteer Activity Certificate, which they can use to support university applications and job hunting. We hope that helping to build this community festival becomes a source of confidence and a meaningful step toward their future.
Volunteers & Sponsors Still Wanted
We are currently looking for volunteer staff and corporate sponsors to help make this festival a success. If you’re interested, please feel free to contact Anzai Kogyo directly or send us a message via Instagram DM.

Next-Generation Leaders Shine in Surprise Radio Broadcast
In a recent episode of the radio program Shimanami Thanks Buddy,
sponsored by Anzai Kogyo, featured three members of the company’s next generation of leaders: Executive Director Ryo Nakamura, Shohei Ko from the Okayama Factory, and Sho Hakoda, who works at the Iwagi shipbuilding site.
The broadcast began with an unexpected situation. Although the company president had been scheduled to appear, he intentionally did not join the program as part of a small surprise challenge. The three guests were left to continue the broadcast without their usual facilitator.
Despite the sudden change, the three calmly carried on the conversation, sharing insights about their daily work, the values they uphold in the field, and the teamwork that supports Anzai Kogyo’s manufacturing operations. Their discussion highlighted the company’s culture of encouraging challenges, learning through experience, and supporting personal growth.
Listening from another room, the president reportedly watched the broadcast with a smile as the three leaders demonstrated composure and strong teamwork—qualities that reflect the strength of Anzai Kogyo’s workplace culture.
Announcement: Radio Segment Schedule Update

Supporting Western Japan’s Largest Ladies Golf Tournament — 160 Women Unite Ahead of the Event
Anzai Kogyo is proud to serve as a sponsoring company for one of the largest ladies golf tournaments in Western Japan, bringing together 160 female golfers.
Ahead of the event, two key members of the organizing team—Ms. Yukari Sanada of JFE Setonaikai Golf Club and Ms. Yayoi Sakai of Golf 5 Fukuyama—joined a radio program to share their passion and commitment. Their sincerity, determination, and vibrant energy truly embodied the spirit of women who shine through challenge and leadership.
The tournament welcomes participants of all skill levels and adopts a shotgun-start format to ensure both efficiency and unity. A post-game gathering further encourages connection and community building through sport.

Radio Appearance Report: Kicking Off 2026 with a Spirit of Bold Challenges On January 9, 2026, our President Shuichi Anzai and Executive Director Ryo Nakamura appeared as guests on FM Fukuyama’s radio program “SHIMANAMI Thanks, buddy.”
The theme of the day was “Bold Declarations for 2026.” Without a prepared script, the discussion highlighted our company’s commitment to embracing the unexpected—what we affectionately call “mucha-buri,” or bold challenges.
President Anzai shared his belief that growth stems from attempting what’s never been done before, while Executive Director Nakamura reflected on his own journey of taking on unfamiliar work in construction steel, encouraged by the spirit of “just try it.”
Founded in the shipbuilding industry, Anzai Industry now handles diverse metalwork including steel structures and welding. We bring together people from all walks of life, leveraging their unique skills and perspectives to innovate in manufacturing.
At the end of the program, President Anzai vowed to keep initiating challenges, while Executive Director Nakamura pledged to meet them head-on—a fitting mindset as we enter a new year full of possibilities.
We look forward to continuing to grow with our community, supporting youth and challengers from all backgrounds, and forging a safer, higher-quality future through manufacturing.
